Classical ballet is a great foundation for most styles of dance as it puts great emphasis on the method and execution of movement. It focuses on technique, strength, and flexibility, and is performed to classical music.

The foundation of Classical Ballet consists of five basic postitions and students of Ballet Dancing are required to learn the names, meanings and the precise techinique of each movement. Emphasis is put on building strength mostly in the lower body, particularly the legs, and on flexibility.
