Dance Classes for Kids

Question:

My daughter is 6 years old a little overweight, I'd love her to start dancing but not sure what is the best way to start. We live near Penrith in Sydney. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, Lisa's mum :) Penrith is a bit far from us, but if you do consider coming to St Leonards (perhaps on Saturdays), then your daughter will most definitely be made comfortable. We have many kids from very diverse backgrounds and what makes us different is our environment. Many of our members have developed strong friendships outside the studio. Many kids come and "hang out" at the studio before and after classes and socialise with other kids. We teach various styles of dance and we create stage performances every 6 months, which means the kids are all working towards a common goal. Either way, feel free to contact us for further information. Regards, Kristine.

Hello We have a dance studio in Penrith - Penrith Ballroom Dance. We have children's classes on a Tuesday afternoon. The time for the beginner group is 5.15 - 6.00 pm. Classes are held during school terms with the dates being based on the public school terms. Penrith Ballroom Dance offers a fantastic and enjoyable experience for children with their weekly specially designed children’s classes where they are taught correct technique and movement. These fun-filled classes are for children aged from 6 years (or in Year 1 at school) up to and including Year 12 aged students. The classes cover the three styles of Ballroom Dancing - Modern, Latin and New Vogue. Students attending these classes will be given the opportunity to complete medal tests at various times during the year. Our medal tests are conducted by The Australian National Dance Association (ANDA). Further lessons can be arranged for anyone interested in competition dancing. Come along any Tuesday afternoon and let your daughter try her first lesson for free. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email. We look forward to meeting you and your daughter and introducing you to the world of ballroom dance.
